Cyclone Social Recovery Fund

The John Villiers Trust established the John Villiers Cyclone Social Recovery Fund in March 2015 for the communities of Central Queensland affected by Tropical Cyclone Marcia.

Grants were specifically for capacity-building projects and programs to help restore the community life and lifestyles of the towns damaged by Cyclone Marcia. The intent of the funding was very broad, as the Trustees recognised that different communities had different “social glue” projects to restore the lifestyle of their community.

Two grants were awarded from the Cyclone Social Recovery Fund:

Rockhampton Riding for the Disabled
Rebuild Shade Structure over Riding Arena
$20,000

Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (Queensland Section)
www.flyingdoctor.org.au
Reliance Capacity Building Program for RFDS Staff
$8,450

The Cyclone Social Recovery Fund closed on 31 December 2015.
