The John Villers Trust Appoints New CEO
Samantha Kennerley has been appointed as CEO of The John Villiers Trust (JVT) in a new and strategically focused role for the organisation. Samantha is an experienced CEO and Managing Director and has held roles across sectors including health, disability, FMCG and professional services in both commercial and not-for-profit organisations in Australia and the UK.
2019 has seen a number of changes at JVT including registering as a Public Ancillary Fund and instigating a new granting strategy which will move away from gifting to delivering impact. Continuing with John Villiers legacy, JVT will focus on the wellbeing and development of children and youth in regional, rural and remote Queensland with the goal of building stronger, more resilient and equitable communities alleviating disadvantage.
With a strong background in social and community impact and stakeholder engagement, Samantha will be tasked with achieving transformative and strategic change whilst building strong, mutually beneficial partnerships and developing collaborations to deliver on JVT’s mission. A key aspect of the role will be to understand the need in the communities JVT supports and ensure impact is achieved via JVT grants.
Dr Cherrell Hirst, AO commented: “The John Villiers Trust has granted $7.8 million during the last 17 years. With our Public Ancillary Fund status our granting capability will increase considerably and with it the impact we seek to deliver to regional, rural and remote Queensland communities. I am delighted to welcome Samantha to The John Villiers Trust.”
JVT acknowledges the contribution of Kerrie Mattiske for approaching four years and wishes her well in her future career.
